Chase to Kamloops

By Sukhdeep Toor, Kamloops
This morning the team woke up at 3 Valley Gap which is a interesting and unique hotel just outside of Revelstoke. We had an early start to the day, meaning it was still dark outside!
We all jumped in the bus heading for Salman Arm to have breakfast and start our ride to Kamloops.
The team rode into Salmon Arm The family’s gave the riders a heart felt message, expressing their support and appreciation for all the work the riders do.
The team then rode into Chase where we met the Rotary Club at Haldane elementary school.
We had lunch at the school, once inside the entrance we were given a warm welcome by long time supporter Cody Chase. Years ago, Cody was one of our little hearts that we had the opportunity to help through our foundation. Meeting Cody was an extreme pleasure. He is currently attending Thompson Rivers University and doing really well. Cody raised and donated $100 to Cops for Kids! The effort Cody put in and the love he gave the riders brought the riders to tears.
We had an exceptional lunch, put on by the Chase Rotary club. The club also made a contributions of $500 To Cops for Kids Foundation!
After lunch it was clear outside except for that one cloud! We rode out of Chase into… I know what you’re thinking, yeah that one could which rained on us!
We rode from Salman Arm to Kamloops. Once in Kamloops, we rode to the North Shore Community Policing station. There we were greeted by 3 families and councillor Dean representing the city of Kamloops and Officer in charge of Kamloops RCMP Syd Lecky. The three families shared their individual stories and it was absolutely amazing to see so many families come out and share their store with us. Hearing the stories and adversity the families had been through touched everyones hearts. That wrapped up day 7 of the ride!
